First Day of School

My baby is at Kindergarten. We woke up this morning and sent him away for a full day of learning fun (hopefully). It was hard. Very hard. For me and for him and for Owen. He tried hiding in the house this morning but eventually warmed to the idea of going to school. Here he is in his school outfit.
With his jacket on ready to go.

 Backpack on!

 Pictures with Mommy and Daddy.

 Walking to the bus stop.

 At the bus stop.

 The bus is coming!
Getting nervous so he moved to the back of the line.
Trying to convince him this is a good idea.
Begging me not to make him go to school.
Me forcefully placing on the bus while he cries, clings to me and yells "Mommy! Mommy! No! I don't want to go to school!!!". This was not easy. I put him in his seat and pried him off of me and sent him on his way. Walking down those stairs while he cried for me...heartbreaking.

We watched the bus pull away and then...I lost it. I know this is best for him but it isn't easy sending him away for over 7 hours a day. I hope he comes to realize that too. On the walk home Owen was fighting tears. We walked in the house and he grabbed his milk and went to lay in his bed. Once I was calmed down I went to talk to him and he cried and told me he was sad that Jacky went to school. Lets hope we all adjust quickly. This growing up business is hard!

Brings back memories Emmy! Helen had a hard time letting go of my leg that first day. It's sweet to hear how much Owen loves his brother; he was hurting for him. Let us know how everyone did once Jack got home!
