No Power - No Fun!

We had a fairly devastating day in our area yesterday. Although we were spared any damage from storms, Grandma and Grandpa Larson were not so fortunate. They lost a lot of BIG trees in their yard but luckily they all missed the house. Everyone lost power except Aunt Sarah so it has been a sticky day with the temperature being over 90 degrees. We came home tonight to an air conditioned house. The power must have come back on some time between Neil getting home from work and us coming back home! Grandpa Larson called to say their power is back on but Grandpa Crossett is still in the dark! Here are a few pictures from the last couple days.

Owen played so hard he fell asleep

Jack in his pool on the deck getting a swig from the hose

Whoa!

Fun stuff

Here is Grandma and Grandpas house with a huge tree down in front. They lost the two big trees in the front and around 10 in the back plus a few on the side.
The trees tipping over
Jack and Grandpa walking next to a massive Oak tree on its side. That is a lot of branches!
More trees down
All those trees are gone too
This one snapped off part way up
This is the Oak tree from the back of the yard. It is just massive. You can't really understand the size without being here but it is well above the house ON ITS SIDE. The tree was absolutely huge.
Stumps after the trees started getting cut up and taken out
Jack trying out the tree remover tractor (the only positive of the past 24 hours I think!)
Wish Grandma and Grandpa luck with the cleanup and re-planting. They have a big mess on their hands now. I hope you all survived the storms without damage and are resting in air conditioning. It was a reminder of just how powerful mother nature can be. This storm certainly came out of nowhere and created a lot of destruction in the blink of an eye. We are thankful that everyone is safe and our homes are in tact!
