Weekend Fun

We have had a really busy weekend and the boys are super tired tonight because of it! On Friday, Mommy and Daddy were going to a wedding so the boys got to have their first joint sleepover at Grandma and Grandpas house. It sounds like they had a lot of fun and did a good job for their first try! When we picked them up Saturday they were already tired but we had more to do! We played at Grandpa Pete and Grandma Nancy's for awhile then headed with them down to the Lansing Lugnuts game where we met Aunt Sarah, Uncle Paul, Aunt Becky, Aunt Theresa and Uncle John for a really fun (and HOT!) baseball game. Here are Daddy and Owen as the game started. Owen was TIRED for the beginning of the game as you can see.
Watching the game.
Jack taking in the scene and lovin' it!
At the end of the game they had the fireworks show that is always fun to watch. Here are Aunt Sarah, Aunt Becky, Jack and Uncle Paul.
Owen checking out the show. I love Jack and Paul in the background!
Watching more fireworks.
Enjoying the show!!!

Today we spent some time at Grandma and Grandpas again and got to go meet baby Blake Sutton who was born on Friday. I forgot my camera but I'm sure I will get some pictures of him soon! Tomorrow we are off to the wave pool for some more summer fun!!!

Concert in the Park

Tonight we went to downtown Milford for Concerts in the Park. The boys enjoyed playing on the play equipment while the concert was going on.
They also sat on the blanket and watched the band.
I asked Jack for his best smile and this is what he gave me. Sorry in advance for your wedding pictures Sarah!
Jack even ventured onto the fire truck but Owen didn't want anything to do with it!

Out

We have been really busy the past couple weeks doing all sorts of fun things. Between the sprinkler park, play dates, power outages, fun at the lake, Castaway Cafe, sleepovers and general day to day chaos the boys have been busy and are worn out! The only thing standing in the way of getting a lot of sleep are all of the storms we have been having. It turns out Jack and Owen are not fans of Thunder so this spring/summer has been a challenge. Tonight as Jack was going to sleep another storm kicked up so I sent him to bed with Daddy and I captured their snuggle on camera.
My sweet boy.

The J-Hawk

Anyone who knew Owen as a baby knows that he has always had TERRIBLE hair. Due to some unfortunately placed cowlicks his hair naturally styled itself into what we dubbed the "O-hawk". People always asked why we gave our baby a faux hawk but we didn't do anything to it! We fought the O-hawk at first but eventually just sort of let it do its thing. Here are a few pictures as a reminder.
Not much has changed with Owen. I can still run my fingers through his hair and it will stand up that same way. We keep it longer because it tends to "behave" a little better (although if you notice it is always sticking up in the back). Every time I push Owens hair up into an O-hawk Jack asks me to do that to his hair too. Jack does not have the kind of hair that will do anything but stay flat to his head but I found some hair gel the other day and finally gave him his wish! Presenting: the J-Hawk!

Sprinkler Park

We finally had a sunny day today so the boys and I headed to Indian Springs to play at the sprinkler park and have a picnic lunch. The boys didn't really remember it from last year but they really loved it! They were in the water despite the fact that it wasn't really that warm out. Here are some pictures from our day there!

Memorial Day Weekend: Day 3

The pictures from Sunday are non-existent for the first part of the day because Becky arrived and I didn't see the boys after that for quite awhile. I think they spent equal time exploring and at the candy store. After dinner Sunday everyone was going fishing so we took the boys across the canal from them to go swimming. Here is Daddy watching Owen run down the dune.
Running
Running
Right into the water!
Jacks first time down didn't go quite as planned...
He got right back up though!
Owen running some more.
and more!
Jack giving it another try. You can tell Becky had arrived because he has candy in his hand while swimming.
Candy mess kid.
Owen and Daddy on top of the dune.
Owen running yet again.
He fell too!
Jack swimming with his fishing pole in his hand (there was no hook on it)
When we went back over to join the fishing Grandma caught a big fish right away! Woohoo!
Owen and Jack trying their luck. With no worms. Or hooks.
Thinking hard about his bait choices.
Jack decided to try a different style of fishing. He was fully clothed.
He was proud of himself.
Owen looking at Jack and thinking it looked pretty good.
Jack showed him how to go right in. Owen didn't make it quite that far but he got in a little.
Fishing away...
So ridiculous.
Becky making Owen giggle.
Owen with his pole.
La te da.
Sarah sneaking kisses from Owen.
Our home away from home for the weekend.
Becky, Jack, Neil and Owen on their way back from a trip to the candy store. Again.
This is how Jack fell asleep that night around the campfire. Becky snuggling her baby.
Uncle Paul snugging his baby.
On Monday when we packed up and left there were a lot of tears. Jack had so much fun he did NOT want to leave. At all. We can't wait to go back!

Also remember that if you are having trouble seeing the pictures you can usually click on them and you will get the full sized picture.
