Good Friday

On Good Friday this year we had more shenanigans planned. The morning started out like any other. Here are Jack and Ella snuggling on the little chair.

 Then we dressed Ella in her cute little pre-Easter outfit.

 Then things got interesting. Jack knew he was getting a surprise so Mommy drove him to Aunt Sarah's house and the three of us drove to the airport. We went inside and Jack knew where we were (we were just there for our Florida trip after all...not to mention all the airplanes) but he still didn't know what was coming. We told him his surprise would come down the escalators (at baggage claim) so he stood and waited as patiently as a 4 year old can. Soon enough Aunt Becky came down the escalator! This was not just a surprise for Jack though! Of course Becky knew she was coming but she thought Jack was meeting her at Grandma and Grandpa's house so she was shocked to see Jack at the bottom of the escalator! They ran to each other for the biggest hug I've ever seen (I might have even seen a few tears!) and it lasted for quite awhile. From there we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's house where the surprises continued because Grandma and Grandpa had NO IDEA Becky was flying in for Easter weekend. It was so fun to see the surprise on their faces when we showed up! We spent the evening catching up and dying Easter eggs and Jack got to have a sleepover (Owen didn't want to) with Aunt Becky and Aunt Sarah.

Today we had a great day together. We went out to Breakfast then on a hike at Highland Rec (Jack went across a log over a river and was SO proud of himself) then spent a beautiful sunny day playing outside and enjoying our time together. Tomorrow we all get to celebrate Easter together before Aunt Becky heads back to Madison. We are so happy to have her back for a few (way too short) days and even more excited that we will get to see her a few more times in the next two months!
