Happy Tears

The tears were mine and only mine this time. Jack didn't have school yesterday due to a staggered start program so the Kindergartners are coming half at a time the first two days. That means today was his first day back on the bus after the rough start on Tuesday. Jack made a deal with Grandma Nancy that he wouldn't cry  getting on the bus and he promised me he would turn around and smile for Aunt Becky. I was still really nervous when the bus starting pulling up.
He turned around and gave me a nervous grin for Aunt Becky.
Then he walked up to the bus...
And climbed right into his seat! As the bus pulled away I couldn't help but shed a tear for how proud I was of him. I sure hope this is a sign for things to come!

I keep thinking he is a great little guy and I am happy for him that he is growing up and the fun he will have... but then I see these pictures and I want to cry too! My only saving grace is that this means he will soon be big enough to get on a plane himself...
