Pumpkin Carving and Birthday Party Fun

Yesterday we had a Birthday celebration for Grandpa Pete and used the opportunity to go pick out our pumpkins and carve them. Here is Jack choosing his pumpkin.
Jack in the giant rocking chair.
Owen sitting in the pumpkin pile.
 The boys with the pumpkins.
Owen taking the easy way around the pumpkin patch.
Grandma and Aunt Sarah picking out her pumpkin.
Back at Grandma and Grandpa's house the boys played on their teeter totter for awhile before we got to work on the pumpkins. I love this picture!
Here is Jack scooping out his pumpkin seeds.
Owen checking out what was inside his pumpkin.
 More scooping.
Owen's pumpkin was tall and skinny so when he reached his arm in it went all the way up to his arm pit.
 Cheesy Jack and Daddy.
Almost losing Owen in his pumpkin.
Taking a pumpkin break to sing Happy Birthday to Grandpa Pete!
Waiting for cake and ice cream. Except Jack who took his own ice cream container.
This is what Ella thought of the whole party.
After pumpkin carving was done we went outside to play since it was SO WARM outside. Jack pushed Ella in the stroller for awhile. Notice the increased excitement in these pictures.

Here are the kids with the finished pumpkins. Owen's cat, Mommy's ghost, Jack's cat and Daddy's smiley face guy that he does every year.
 Again.
Jack with his pumpkin. This is an accurate depiction of how the evening was going at this point. They were some tired and cranky kids!
 Owen with his masterpiece.
Owen taking a turn at pushing Ella before we headed home for some much needed sleep!
