Basket of Laughs

One of my absolute favorite things is watching the boys play together (when they are being nice to one another). This is something they are doing more and more and it is so fun to watch them realize that they can have a lot more fun together than with me or by themselves. Today was a good day in this regard!
This is Owen looking hilarious.
This shopping cart is the cheapest piece of junk but they both love it!
On the move.

Jack convinced Owen to sit in this basket and push him around. Owen wasn't so sure at first.
Eventually he loved it!
Jack liked it too!
And Mommy didn't have to break her back pushing them around!!!
I love this picture of Owen. I wish Jack's hair wasn't in the picture!
Here is a video of the basket fun.

Blame YouTube!!!

I have new pictures and video to post but YouTube is down for maintainance again so they will have to wait until tomorrow! Plus Daddy is gone for work this week so Mommy needs to go get some sleep, these sick babies are wearing me out!

Little Drummer Boys

We will get to the drums in a minute but first we have a couple pictures of Owen playing outside and a few random videos.

Happy swinger.

He loves it!

Climbing on the swing set.

Getting ready to go down the slide head first.

This is just Owen being Owen. It is sort of long but he was being very talkative!
Here is Jack talking about the fireplace
Last night Mommy went out with her sisters while Daddy stayed home with the boys and this is what I came home to.

Grandpa bought the boys a real deal drum set so they could play all day every day just like they try to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Needless to say...

it is getting a lot of use...

and I am getting a headache!

But they love it!!!

I hope they become successful enough to support me in my old age!

Here are videos of the boys trying out the drums.

Jack is very subtle when he doesn't want Owen to play the drums.

Big Update

Well things went from bad to worse around here but they seem to be turning the corner today (finally!). Jack and Owen did a joint doctor trip Friday to find that Owen had another ear infection and Jack's breathing had gotten worse. Jack got a steroid shot at the doctor and has been on oral steroids and antibiotics at home to try to help him as well as his nebulizer treatments. He continued to deteriorate with a high fever and trouble breathing and he was making Mommy worry to death until finally this morning we woke up seeming better. It has been a LONG couple of days with little sleep in this house!
Here is Owen on the little tractor before his ear infection set in.
He likes it!
We needed activities that kept Jack from moving since even walking made him struggle to breath and set him into a coughing fit so out came the bike trailer!
Yesterday morning Jack was really not doing well. He woke up with a temperature and could hardly keep his eyes open. Here he is with his nebulizer.
Trying to stay awake.
Almost out...
He lost the battle...
Poor guy!
Even after he had been awake awhile and I got him dressed he couldn't get off the couch. He was breaking my heart!
So sad.
This morning Jack woke up seeming much better. The flush in his cheeks is gone (as is the fever) and he is much happier even though he is still a bit sleepy. Check him out!
Awesome sweater from the Bows.
That is my happy guy!
I was so glad to see him getting better. It is hard to see him in that much discomfort.
Yup...that's my Jack!
Daddy turned the fireplace on today to show it to Jack. Here he is showing Jack how to feel for the warmth.
"Like this Daddy?"
Relaxing by the fire.
Owen is taking the ear infection like a trooper. Here he is dining alfresco today.
He spent the whole time pointing out birds.

Sick Babies

We are struggling with some illness at the Crossett house lately. It turns out things are getting worse instead of better! The boys and I have all had these horrible colds for the past week or so (after just getting better from the last one) and they took a turn for the worse at the beginning of this week. The boys are both coughing horribly and Jack spiked a fever last night. Jack was coughing so hard today he threw up more than once and he still has a fever so Neil took him to the doctor. They spent a long time working him up. They took blood (no tears!) and did some breathing treatments. Apparently he is having trouble breathing with the beginnings of pneumonia. They sent him home with a Nebulizer machine to do breathing treatments as well as an antibiotic and steroid. We are going back in to the doctor tomorrow to see if things are getting better. Wish us luck and keep us in your thoughts because I sure hate seeing my babies so sick! No matter how sick they are they still love a good bath!
Jack at dinner tonight with his new hat. The flushed cheeks are from his fever.
Using his breathing machine.
Poor kiddo.
He seems to like this thing!

Bowling Video

Bowling

Yesterday we went bowling to celebrate Mommy's cousin Nick's 6th Birthday. We were joined by Aunt Sarah, Uncle Paul, Grandma & Grandpa, The Fegans, Aunt Theresa, The Bows, and later by Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Dave. Jack loves bowling and Owen likes cheering! Most of my pictures didn't turn out because the lighting was really bad but I will have a video posted once YouTube is working (darn site maintenance). Both kids are really sick right now so tomorrow we might find ourselves back at the doctor. Seems we can't catch a break with illness this winter!

Babies, Babies Everywhere!

We will get to the baby takeover in a minute but first we have Owen working the camera in his overalls.

Such a ham.
I wish there was better light in this picture because I adore this face.
Nothing like a kid with no pants in the background of a cute picture!
Hey!
Tonight we went to a baby shower (coolest baby shower ever by the way) for couples/families. It was a nice chance to get friends together and a lot of babies. Here is a shot of some of the new Daddies with their little ones. Neil with Owen and Jack, Dustin with Carter (2 months old), Jason with Jake (13 months), and Mike with Evan (4 months).
Trent and Julie (the lovely parents-to-be) jumped in a photo as well!
Neil and Jack want THIS basement. Not too shabby! Trent and his Dad do custom car painting and they store cars in the basement in the winter. Pretty neat!

Here a few new videos. First Owen is getting the hang of singing. He will sing the ABC's if you start it (he makes the noises but he doesn't know the letters) and he loves these songs as well.
This is a messy snack.
Owen is also finally learning to go down the stairs in a controlled manner. Our days of gating off the basement will soon be over!
